This class is designed for the civilian who already has a good foundation in handgun safety, handling and marksmanship and wants to further his or her knowledge and skill. The six-hour course will review but not go into detail on legal topics such as Chapter 5 of the PA Crimes Code and Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine, nomenclature, , cleaning, safe handling and storage of the handgun. The live fire portion will cover marksmanship, loading and reloading, drawing from the holster, stoppage and malfunction clearing and shooting from cover. Students are required to provided their own handgun and 100 rounds of manufactured approved ammunition ( no re-loaded ammunition allowed). Students are also required to provide proper hearing protection, eye protection, and a baseball style hat. A practical skills test will be given to assess the students ability to remain in the class. Must be 21 years old to register.
