Coding specialists work closely with healthcare providers to ensure the accuracy of the translation. Medical coding is a vital behind-the-scenes activity that supports the billing process and quality patient care. The program focuses on advanced coding skills and preparing for certification in this field. Students taking this program are prepared to take the CPC certification exam for professional coders offered through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). A six-hour certification preparation course is provided as part of this program.
