Sign Language II continues using the Signing Naturally (2008) curriculum. Units 4, 5, and 6 will be covered, including family, activities, and residency topics. Students will learn more basic vocabulary, classifiers, grammar and sentence structures necessary to hold a beginning-level conversation in ASL. Grammar covered will include but not limited to: asking questions, non-manual markers, parameters, negatives, time markers, directional verbs, and noun-verb pairs. In addition, students will increase awareness of the Deaf community and culture through topics of discussion and suggested reading materials. Previous experience with ASL is required (Sign Language I or other experience). No book required.
